Not blanca (cypress back and sides), not negra (rosewood back and sides) but Flamenco Dorado, the golden flamenco guitar. For years both artists and builders alike have been searching for THAT sound, flamenco snap and growl but with a little more of the articulation and flexibility of a classical guitar. This is not a light-weight rosewood classical guitar with lowered action or a beefed up blanca, it is a guitar specifically designed for the demanding flamenco soloist for live performance. It is LOUD and articulate. The soundboard, the back and the sides are all built to specific mass and stiffness criteria and are mated to a neck set up for outstanding playability, with the low action required for fast soloing. The low profile bridge can be used in either traditional 6 hole mode or modern 12 hole mode. The guitar is fitted with planetary pegs for a traditional look with the convenience and ease of tuning facilitated by a gearing mechanism within the peg itself.
It is twenty-first century design for sound and playability with a flamenco mojo that differentiates this guitar from any other.
The Flamenco Dorado is finished in hard French polish on the soundboard, back and sides for the ultimate acoustical response. The neck is finished with nitrocellulose lacquer or can be French polished by request. See the photo gallery for more pictures.
